A lovely hotel in a quiet area close to Paddington. Spacious double room with fantastic bathroom facilities. Not much of a view as we were in the basement, however we were only staying one night so it didn't spoil our stay! Reception staff were friendly, welcoming and efficient. We were pleased with the left luggage facilities when we checked out.

Smelly and damp throughout - including the bedlinen. Smell in corridors was a real put-off.
A fellow customer who complained and asked to change room had a mega row with reception staff who were unhelpful.
Would recommend other excellent hotels in same areas, within same price range but with breakfast included (a rip-off at £14.95).

Room was boiling hot (no air-con) even with two fans on full blast. Had a balcony but no door to get onto it, only an un-openable floor to ceiling window so could have been hard to get out anyway! Complained about the heat to reception, they couldn't care less. We got our room at reduced rate but i'd still never recommend this hotel to anyone.

I have to say I was very disappointed with this hotel. We were accommodated in a basement, with limited light. Also, there was no warm water in the shower (the thermoregulation did not work). This was not dealt with, despite our complaint. I was also surprised that full payment is requested upon arrival, without the possibility to inspect the room first. I will definitely not stay in this hotel again and try to find a different hotel in the area

First night was terrible as the room we were put in had no airconditioning and the hotel did not have a fan so we were moved to another hotel, the room was the size of a shoebox and we paid for an executive double. the second night we were put in a triple which provided ample space however the TV was archaic and only had 5 channels overall the experience was very disappointing for the money paid!

A hotel to avoid - if you want a hotel on this price level then find another - the rooms are pretty dire and the well decorated reception cannot hide the rooms that fall well short of the price, the breakfast which is overpriced and not particularly enjoyable and the service which is pretty poor and we found particularly rude, unhelpful and homophobic. If you want a cheap budget hotel of which this is one then find another that is the on the same level as the Hyde Park Premier but has better service and will provide a more enjoyable stay.

Do yourself a favour and DO NOT stay in this hotel EVER. It is one of the worst places I have ever had the misfortune to stay in.
Do not let the facade fool you either. The only money spent on this place is on the paint on the exterior walls and some bushes on the terrace out front. Once past the reception you enter the real horror of this place with it's tiny corridors and dirty carpets.
The damp and unsanitary smell throughout the corridors was met with an even worse smell on entering the bedroom. The rooms are appalling with walls so damp the wallpaper is either cut away (and not replaced) or hanging off the wall to give some what of a very depressing patchwork effect. On complaining to the reception I was shown another room in exactly the same condition, however, the bed clothes in this room were actually ripped on the bed.
Cleverly the hotel had asked me to pay up front when I arrived before I saw my room (alarm bells should have gone off in my head at this stage) so I was not in a position to walk out. When I explained how disappointed I was and that the hotel had really conned us by the photos used on the website I was simply told by an extremely rude attendant 'That's the room you booked and that's all we have'. There was no attempt to help make things better or to offer us our money back to go elsewhere.
I had to endure 2 nights in this hotel and the only thing that made it bearable was drinking wine and hopefully coming back in somewhat of a haze to fall straight asleep. I slept on top of the bed both nights as I couldn't bare to get under the covers. I could not bear to be in this hotel for any time at all.
I have seen some good reviews for this hotel and I can only believe they were written by the owners or friends of the owners as there is nothing positive about this faulty tower. My advice is look elsewhere there are plenty of hotels in the area.

The hotel is nearer to Paddington tube than Lancaster Gate. It is also a lot nearer to 3-star than 3.5 stars in my opinion. The free wireless Internet is a real boon, but the rack rate for this hotel is WAY over the odds...

I booked a Deluxe single room for 3 nights in October 2007, not very good, it was a very small room, small bed, no A/C, safe didn“t work, almost no space where to put your clothes, no space for suitcases, good location thou, nice restaurants nearby. Next time I would try to get another hotel in the area.
